Attestations are the transcription or faithful reproduction of an original document for which the notary invested by the state with public faith is responsible for the correspondence between the two.

Signature attestations are a particularly important category of attestations in which the notary certifies the identity and details of the signatory and the date of the signature.

We tell you how and what is necessary:

• Authentications of signatures by presence require the person concerned to come to the notary's office to sign with his or her original identity card.

• The legitimisation of signatures by identity with those appearing on the DNI requires the signed document and the original DNI of the interested party to be presented.
